At the IAA Transportation, MAHLE will showcase its systemic approach to a fuel cell truck: with fuel cell peripherals, thermal management and—for the first time—a fully functional E-axle with two integrated SCT electric motors.

The new evaporative cooling device ensures optimal temperature control for fuel cells. It offers more cooling capacity while simultaneously lowering hydrogen consumption.

Inspired by owls: At the IAA Transportation, MAHLE is introducing its new bionic fan for highly-demanding fuel cell and battery-electric vehicles.

MAHLE also developed the fan cover and carrier according to bionic principles, saving weight and increasing structural integrity in the process.

The bionic battery cooling plate keeps lithium-ion batteryin the optimal temperature window. The channel design imitates flow patterns found in nature. This reduces pressure loss by up to 20 % and increases cooling power by 10 %.

At the IAA, MAHLE will showcase its E-Axle—in which two MAHLE SCT electric motors with a total of 520 kW peak power and 480 kW continuous power as well as the associated oil management are integrated.

Thanks to its high continuous power, the MAHLE SCT (Super Continuous Torque) electric motor is the ideal electric drive for heavy-duty traffic in all-electric trucks and in fuel cell applications

The new technology kit for electric motors that combines the advantages of the benchmark SCT and MCT electric motors. The “perfect motor” combines permanently high peak power, contactless and thus wear-free power transmission, the elimination of rare earths, and the highest efficiency.

The powercell unit reduces the oil consumption of a hydrogen engine and guarantees robust and trouble-free operation.

This hydrogen is actively purged out with air by our high-pressure impactor. Purging prevents the formation of a hydrogen mixture which could possibly ignite.
