IAA Transportation 2022
World Premiere MAHLE SCT Electric Motor
The MAHLE flat membrane humidifier makes sure fuel cells get humid air which they need to work optimally. Together with filters, thermal management and electronics, MAHLE thus maps the essential systems in fuel cell peripherals.

MAHLE also develops technologies for fuel cell drives, e.g. air filters that reliably protect against particles and harmful gases.
The DC/DC converter, which adjusts the voltages in the system, is part of the MAHLE portfolio for fuel cells. Together with the sophisticated air and thermal management, MAHLE thus maps the essential systems in the fuel cell periphery.
World premiere at the IAA Transportation: The piston shown here is part of the new Power Cell Unit from MAHLE, which enables the use of hydrogen and thus climate-neutral operation of combustion engines.
The MAHLE high pressure impactor actively flushes the crankcase of H2 combustion engines with air and prevents flammable hydrogen from building up there.
Dr Marco Warth, head of global development of engine components and systems at MAHLE, spoke to around 300 interested participants at the IAA Transportation at the booth of commercial vehicle manufacturer Cummins about the potential of the hydrogen engine.
MAHLE offers the right components for operating hydrogen engines.
Systemic interaction for battery electric vehicles in a tech demonstrator.
MAHLE is showing its technologies for battery electric vehicles in a tech demonstrator.
The cooling of traction motors is of major importance. They are the true “power packs” and must be protected from overheating.
The heart of the refrigerant circuit is the air conditioning compressor.
The temperature-sensitive Li-ion battery must always be kept within the optimum temperature window by the thermal management system.
