IAA Transportation: German Federal Minister for Digital and Transport Wissing visits MAHLE

During the official opening tour of the IAA Transportation in Hanover (Germany), German Federal Minister for Digital and Transport Dr. Volker Wissing visited the MAHLE booth to gain insights into the group’s innovative technologies. CEO Arnd Franz (picture right) presented the minister with the new MAHLE bionic high-performance fan— the blades of which were modelled on owl wings, one of the most silent birds. This new development more than halves the sound pressure level of the fan, making electric trucks significantly quieter, both under full load or when charging. Other guests at the MAHLE stand were (from left to right) Olaf Lies, Minister for Economic Affairs, Housing, Transport & Digitalization Lower Saxony, Hildegard Müller, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), and Stephan Weil, Minister President of Lower Saxony. At this year’s IAA Transportation, MAHLE is presenting its innovations for fuel cell and electric trucks, as well as the hydrogen engine, under the motto Technological Diversity.
