MAHLE is making electric vehicle charging even more flexible. MAHLE chargeBIG, the MAHLE Group subsidiary specializing in intelligent and scalable charging, presents a charging terminal at this year''s Power2Drive that can charge up to four electric vehicles simultaneously with 22 kilowatts (kW) of alternating current (AC) charging capacity each. The newly developed solution was created in cooperation with Langmatz Energy, a leading provider of infrastructure and housing solutions. The charging terminal combines the payment function and charging points in a single housing, making it an ideal compact solution for parking operators, municipalities, and businesses. In addition, the new financing models "leasing" and "lease-purchase option" make the decision to electrify easier. MAHLE chargeBIG is also presenting its mobile charging solution smallBOX PORTABLE, which now features an integrated card reader for legally compliant billing on site. Also on display at the trade show booth are high-performance cooling modules from MAHLE for fast-charging stations for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. The international trade show for charging infrastructure and electric mobility will take place at the exhibition grounds in Munich, June 23—25, 2026. The MAHLE booth is in Hall C6, booth number 320.

For the new charging terminal, Langmatz Energy supplies a specially developed outer housing that is optimally matched to the dynamic, grid-relieving AC charging technology from MAHLE chargeBIG. The result is a high-performance, cost-efficient overall system that is particularly well suited for use in public spaces. The modular design and well-conceived system architecture allow for straightforward installation, fast maintenance, and high serviceability for qualified electricians. Thanks to the integrated design, no additional standalone columns are required. This saves space and enables harmonious integration into existing parking structures. An integrated payment function at the terminal also allows end users to settle charges conveniently by RFID charging card or credit card.
Making electrification easy: Attractive financing instead of high investment
In partnership with BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, MAHLE chargeBIG now offers two flexible financing models for building charging infrastructure, with no large upfront investment required. With leasing, customers benefit from predictable monthly installments that preserve liquidity and give financial flexibility. At the same time, the high degree of flexibility throughout the contract term enables fast decisions, tailored to the project’s specifications. The lease-purchase option likewise allows for predictable installments and avoids large one-time investments, while companies can simultaneously benefit from tax depreciation options. Furthermore, at the end of the contract term, ownership of the charging infrastructure transfers to the customer and can be recorded as a long-term asset.
Both models facilitate the expansion of charging infrastructure in line with demand, particularly for larger projects. Examples from the field also show that, even at moderate utilization, the investment can be recouped through ongoing revenue. This is a decisive advantage for the accelerated electrification of parking areas and company premises.
Mobile charging power without permanent installation
The mobile charging solution smallBOX PORTABLE is housed in a compact yet robust enclosure. It is fully protected against external environmental influences and can be used across a wide operating temperature range of -13°F to +131°F (-25°C to +55°C). Designed especially for construction sites, events, or temporary charging locations, the solution offers maximum flexibility with four charging points and up to 22 kW of capacity each, all without the need for a permanent installation. In addition to billing via the integrated card reader, charging points can also be activated by QR code through the chargeBIG app.
Cooling for fast-charging stations
As part of its non-automotive business, MAHLE has developed an innovative cooling module for fast-charging stations that efficiently dissipates the heat generated by the charging cable, ensuring maximum charging capacity even under extreme climatic conditions. The system, certified for Europe (CE) and North America (UL), operates reliably at ambient temperatures between -31°F and +122°F (-35°C to +50°C) without requiring any reduction in charging current.
The cooling module is equipped with heat exchangers and pumps developed by MAHLE. A specially programmed control unit coordinates all components precisely and optimally aligns them with the respective performance and efficiency requirements of the charging station. Designed for use at rest stops and truck stops, the solution closes a significant gap in the growing fast-charging infrastructure market.
With intelligent and connected charging solutions, MAHLE addresses a key focus area of its MAHLE 2030+ corporate strategy. The company reinforces its position as a technology partner for electric mobility and makes a concrete contribution to the further expansion of a high-performance, demand-driven charging infrastructure.
